Signing of Strategic Cooperation Agreement 10-01-2023
On January 10, Mr. Li Anwei, Managing Director of China Metallurgical Group Corporation Malaysia (MCC), and his party visited the headquarters of Zoomlion Malaysia, and discussed with Mr. Jing Zheng, Deputy Country Manager of Zoomlion Malaysia, on how to further strengthen the business expansion of the two parties in the Malaysian market. Comprehensive in-depth exchanges were conducted on the business cooperation of both parties, and a strategic cooperation framework agreement between MCC and Zoomlion was signed.
Mr. Jing welcomed the visit of Mr. Li and his party, spoke highly of the remarkable development achievements made by MCC in recent years, and briefly introduced Zoomlion’s current situation in Malaysia. Mr. Jing has spoken that the newly established overseas subsidiary of Zoomlion in Malaysia, is mainly engaged in the research, development and manufacture of major high-tech equipment required for key infrastructure and engineering projects in construction, energy, and transportation fields. The Malaysian market is the starting point for development, while the business expansion covers Singapore and Brunei. Mr. Jing pointed out that MCC is a state-owned, giant enterprise (SOE) with comprehensive core strength. The two parties often have cooperations back in China, that contributes the potential to extend such cooperation in Malaysia. MCC is willing to fully support the cooperation between the two parties to achieve mutual benefits.
Mr. Li expressed his gratitude to Zoomlion for their trust and support to MCC, and briefly introduced current setting of MCC in Malaysia. He mentioned that MCC is the world's largest and strongest metallurgical construction contractor and metallurgical operations service provider. With a solid backgrounds and years of experiences, MCC has successfully diversified its business to other renowned non-metallurgical projects in Malaysia. As one of the earliest SOEs in China to "go global", MCC actively implements the national "Belt and Road" initiative in promoting facility connectivity, community bonds, and fulfills the social responsibility on behalf of the government.
After the meeting, Mr. Jing and Mr. Li signed a strategic cooperation agreement on behalf of the two parties. According to the agreement, the two parties will give all out on their respective industrial advantages in areas where there is room for cooperation, will deepen the level of cooperation and making contributions for implementing new development concepts to promote high-quality development.
Mr. Zhao Peng, Deputy Country Manager of Zoomlion Malaysia; Mr. Cai Jiajun, Head of the Chinese-funded Project Department; Mr. Hu Yueqing, Manager of the Project Management Department of MCC Malaysia; Mr. Ong Qingquan, Manager of the Bidding Department, and relevant functional departments of both parties attended the above-mentioned signing ceremony.
