Recently, Zoomlion's foundation machinery - the rotary drilling rig ZR255R was successfully mobilized to Sabah, an important city in East Malaysia, and will be used in the comprehensive upgrading and renovation of the Pan-Borneo Highway in Sabah, Malaysia, a Belt and Road Initiative (BRI)-related project.
The project mainly involves comprehensive upgrade of the existing road, with a length of 23.5 kilometers, aiming to upgrade the narrow two-way single-lane highway to a wider and more efficient two-way two-lane one. The scope of works includes construction of the main road, design and construction of bridges, installation and optimization of public lighting systems, deployment of advanced traffic control systems, implementation of environmental protection measures, construction of pedestrian overpasses and a series of ancillary works. The project is expected to be completed within 42 months, of which the on-time delivery with high quality will significantly improve the transportation in Lahad Datu, Tawau of Sabah and even in the entire region, and promote the sustainable development of the local economy and society.

ZR255R, with its rotary drive having a torque of up to 260kNm, is capable of multi-speed control with sound adaptability to working conditions and good soil dumping performance; Its leader top cylinder and mast are designed with disassembly-free supports, which is convenient for transportation; The rotary drive is equipped with a casing drive unit as standard, the casing driver can be installed for driving casings; The V-generation rotary drive is designed with a two-stage buffer device and three-level shock absorption measures to reduce the vibration of the whole machine; The continuous flight auger configuration is suitable for soft soil strata, with high drilling efficiency and convenient concrete injection; Besides, the rotary drive floating capability, together with the casing oscillator (for which one-button oil supply is designed) can realize full-casing construction below 20 meters.
