On May 11, Zoomlion's "Technology Fuels the New Era" series of activities kicked off at Zoomlion Smart City in Changsha with great fanfare. During the event, thousands of guests from home and abroad visited multiple lighthouse factories, including the industry's first full-process excavator intelligent manufacturing factory, and fully experienced the charm of Zoomlion Smart City—the largest and most comprehensive construction machinery industrial base in the world—in intelligent manufacturing, Also, they viewed more than 500 high-grade intelligent products and innovative achievements, such as the world's maximum-tonnage all-terrain crane, which demonstrate Zoomlion's new outlook in digitization, intellectualization, and green transformation.
A 100,000-square-meter display area was home to a variety of activities including new product release and the park visiting & interactions & photo taking activity. Endless streams of surprises left visitors in excitement. On the first day of the event, Zoomlion obtained orders totally worth RMB 4.691 billion, fully showing its market-leading capacity in driving development through scientific and technological innovation.
Jiang Difei, Vice Governor of Hunan Province, Xu Niansha, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of China Machinery Industry Federation, and Su Zimeng, President of China Construction Machinery Association, attended the themed conference and delivered speeches. Tan Yong, Deputy Secretary of the Changsha Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Xiangjiang New Area (Changsha National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone), Hunan and Secretary of the CPC Committee of Yuelu District, and Zhan Chunxin, Party Secretary, Chairman, and CEO of Zoomlion, also made speeches. Upon entering Zoomlion Smart City, one is greeted by high-class gray-colored factory buildings designed in an integrated way. The corner of each building is ornamented with the aurora-like green logo of Zoomlion, which emanates freshness and vitality. In the modern, spacious, and bright intelligent factory buildings in the earthmoving machinery park, industrial robots perform agile operations while intelligent transportation robots move about in an orderly fashion ... Various scenes of intelligent manufacturing were vividly presented before guests, capturing them with the beauty of science and industry, and evoking exclamation among them. These sights showcased the power of the "Number One Project" of Hunan Province.
The intelligent factory of the Earthmoving Machinery Park of Zoomlion Smart City
The Earthmoving Machinery Park is the park first opened in the Zoomlion Smart City and the only excavator whole-process intelligent manufacturing factory in the world that covers material preparation, welding, machining, painting, assembly, and commissioning. Even materials as small as screws in the assembly workshops are finished by AGV (Automatic Guided Vehicle). Through the full application of cutting-edge technologies such as intelligent production scheduling, industrial AI, digital twinning, and the Industrial Internet, the integration of visible and invisible intelligence is materialized, making it possible to produce one excavator every six minutes on average.
This is the "outpost" lighthouse factory in the planned layout of Zoomlion Smart City. For the City, eight world-leading lighthouse factories have been mapped out, which will include more than 300 intelligent production lines and adopt over 600 patented production line technologies. Through intelligent, digital, and eco-friendly upgrading, an advanced manufacturing cluster will be fostered, revolving around four OEM parks, four key parts centers, eight national scientific research and innovation platforms, and one international standards secretariat. It is expected to enable the production of an excavator in 6 minutes on average, a piece of aerial working machinery in 7.5 minutes, an auto crane in 18 minutes, and a pump truck with an arm support device in 30 minutes. The completed facility will become a comprehensive industrial base for construction machinery with the world's largest scale and most complete varieties. It will also become a new landmark for intelligent manufacturing in Changsha known as the "City of Construction Machinery".

Zoomlion overcame many difficulties during the construction. In just a few short years, Zoomlion Smart City has been basically completed. The high-quality earthmoving machinery park has been put into operation, while both the aerial work machinery intelligent manufacturing park and the concrete pumping machinery park have production lines operated, and the engineering hoisting machinery park is taking shape. The Science and Technology Carnival, a highlight among these activities, comprehensively showcases Zoomlion's excellent achievements and performance in the whole industry, product portfolio, and multiple fields. More than 10 exhibition areas were set up in four parks: Earthmoving Machinery Park, Aerial Work Machinery Intelligent Manufacturing Park, Concrete Pumping Machinery Park, and Engineering Hoisting Machinery Park. Exhibits included Zoomlion's truck pump with the world's longest arm support, the world's largest tonnage all-terrain crane, the world’s tallest self-propelled straight-arm aerial work platform, tower crane with 5G remote-control system, the elevating platform fire truck with the highest height of 90 meters in China, and the harvester with the largest feeding quantity in China. Some of these products are the largest or first of their kind. It was the first time that many audiences came into face-to-face contact with these large high-end devices that showed great strength leaving an indelible impression on them.
Guests experience Zoomlion's 5G remote control
More than 60 (sets of) new energy products were displayed, such as the world's first pure electric off-road tire crane. They feature energy conservation, environmental protection, strong power, and excellent performance and comprehensively demonstrate Zoomlion's world-leading technology in the new energy sector. Meanwhile, Zoomlion also exhibited 13 sets of independently developed and industry-first key new energy parts.

The new products, including the Lingzhi series of concrete batching plants, ultra-large tonnage excavators, and a series of engineering cranes, were successively launched in various parks. A series of advanced and innovative technological achievements, along with its robust scientific capabilities, have garnered high praise and recognition from the customers at the event. As a result, Zoomlion has seen a continuous stream of contract signings, with a total of RMB 4.691 billion worth of signed contracts as of May 11.

The skid steer loader and electric excavator gracefully dance the waltz, tower cranes perform a two-person lift, scissor aerial work platforms interact on a "go-kart track," and cute bear graffiti appear on-site with new building materials. Apart from the static displays and on-site activities, the "Little Green Army" of Zoomlion also demonstrated their abilities, providing the audience with an immersive experience of the agility and charm of intelligent products. One enthusiastic guest commented, "I thought these massive machines would be clunky, but I was pleasantly surprised to see them move so gracefully and even dance! It was truly amazing!"

While present at the event, one could hear not only Chinese conversations but also various foreign languages such as English, Thai, Turkish, and more. Looking around, it was apparent that there were foreign visitors among the Chinese crowds. Zoomlion Smart City has become a highland of reform and opening-up in the inland regions.
As is known, this event was attended by nearly 500 overseas customers from over 40 countries and regions such as the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Singapore, Turkey, Brazil, the United States, and the Netherlands. Many of them came from countries and regions along the Belt and Road. According to reports, as Zoomlion's products continue to enter major overseas markets, customers who have used their products have found that products made in China have better performance and quality than they had originally expected. Therefore, the products have quickly spread in local markets such as Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Latin America, Africa, and other markets.
In recent years, Zoomlion has been speeding up its transformation in overseas business models through the "global village" mindset and the "localization" philosophy.
