Recently, construction progress was reported from the mountainous region in central Georgia. The first wind turbine unit of the Ruisi Wind Power Project—the country’s largest single wind power project to date—has been successfully hoisted into place. With the assistance of the main lifting equipment, a Zoomlion crawler crane, the entire hoisting process from start to completion took only seven days, setting a new record for hoisting efficiency at local mountainous wind farms and fully demonstrating the robust capabilities of China’s high‑end equipment.

The Ruisi Wind Power Project is the first large‑scale new‑energy project aligning the Belt and Road Initiative with Georgia’s “Green Development Strategy.” With a total installed capacity of 206 MW, the project plans to install 33 intelligent wind turbine units. Once fully operational, it is expected to deliver about 600 million kWh of green electricity annually, meeting the electricity demands of over 200,000 households and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by more than 400,000 tons per year.
Located in a typical complex mountainous environment with significant terrain variations and complex wind conditions, the project places high demands on hoisting precision and stability. Moreover, widespread persistent snowfall in Georgia this winter has increased the difficulty of equipment transportation and on‑site construction. The Zoomlion crawler crane, with its outstanding hoisting performance and wind‑resistance capability, ensured the rapid assembly and accurate positioning of wind turbine components in challenging terrain.
During the construction process, the crane’s green boom extended steadily, lifting components from a horizontal to a vertical position smoothly, with its high efficiency and reliability drawing considerable attention from the project team.

The Ruisi Wind Power Project will not only supply clean energy to Georgia but also promote the green transformation of the local energy structure. Zoomlion will continue to contribute advanced technological equipment and high‑quality services to help build a benchmark wind power project in the region and participate in painting a sustainable development blueprint.
